View Pictures from Pastor Chris Youth Retreat 2012
This past October 17th & 18th, the St. John family held our annual Oyster, Ham or Chicken Dinner, with over 1,100 meals served. Pastor Mark, the OHC Dinner Committee and the entire congregation extend their heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who attended or helped in any way. Funds raised from this year’s event will support, in part, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cape May and Atlantic County and the St. John Lutheran Youth Organization (for their trip to the National Youth Gathering in 2012). We would like to especially acknowledge and thank Boyar’s Market for their help and support.

Easter 2010 Christ is Risen! He is risen, indeed. Hallelujah! The
St. John family celebrated
with Festival Services
of Communion featuring
the St. John Choir
& Bell Choir, St. John
Childrens Choir, and a
special message from Pastor
Mark about jelly beans,
which little Nicholas seemed
to enjoy immensely. |
Palm Sunday 2010 When Jesus made his triumphant entry into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey, great crowds of people thronged the streets waving palm branches to welcome Him. The people shouted "Hosanna" and laid their cloaks and palm branches in His path. This
past Sunday, we relived
that moment in St. John
as we threw our shirts
in the path of the Palm
Sunday procession. Thanks,
Pastor Mark, for the
threads! |

St. John Lutheran Church donated $2,000 from
the proceeds of the Oyster, Ham and Chicken dinner to Volunteers in
Medicine of Cape May County. Board Member, and Cape May County
Clerk, Rita Marie Fulginiti of Ocean City, accepted the donation
from Pastor Mark. Mrs. Fulginiti thanked the members of St. John
for their generosity. "VIM's motto is Neighbors Caring
for Neighbors; thank you members of St. John for being caring neighbors."
Volunteers in Medicine of Cape May County began six years ago with the
goal to understand and serve the health and wellness needs of the medically
uninsured population living in Cape May County. The clinic, located
at 423 Route 9 in Cape May Court House, is open five days per week. VIM's
clinic has treated over 2,500 patients constituting over 9,000 patient
visits.
Mrs. Fulginiti explained that VIM's patients are people who work but
whose incomes are at a such a low level that they can not afford a
doctor visit or their medication. "Without VIM our patients
would have to choose between paying for food or rent and paying for
medical care; our patients are the working poor who have no access
to medicare or other insurance." VIM patients must qualify
for services according to their income. There is never a charge
to a VIM patient for any medical service or medicine. "The
overwhelming majority of our patients are those with chronic conditions
such as diabetes or heart disease." Fulginiti said.
If you need the services of VIM or want to learn more about being a
volunteer please call 609-463-2VIM or contact Mrs. Fulginiti at 609-231-1813.
